LIUNA Local 837 is a proud supporter of numerous community initiatives and charitable causes, one such cause the United Way of Burlington and Greater Hamilton. On Thursday February 3rd, LIUNA Local 837 was presented with a “Spirit Award” by the Hamilton and District Labour Council at their 2010 annual awards presentation which took place at Carmen’s Banquet Centre. Local 837 was one of several organizations recognized for their hard work and strong commitment and financial contribution to various community causes. Local 837 was specifically recognized for our work with the United Way of Burlington and Greater Hamilton. Accepting the award on behalf of LIUNA Local 837 were International Vice President and Central and Eastern Canada Regional Manager and President of LIUNA Local 837, Joseph S. Mancinelli; Local 837 Secretary-Treasurer Riccardo Persi and Retired Local 837 Recording Secretary Tom Troy.
